A Lifelong Passion for Fieldsports
Growing up on an arable farm in the heart of the Hampshire Downs ignited my lifelong passion for the countryside and fieldsports. From my early years riding in the combine to teenage summers patrolling with a shotgun in the hope of a harvest rabbit, I've been immersed in the rural way of life.
My father's role as gamekeeper introduced me to the thrill of beating at a young age, a tradition I continue to enjoy today. Spending countless hours in the field alongside my grandfather, great uncle, and father, I honed my shooting skills and developed a deep respect for the natural world.
These formative experiences have shaped my photography and instilled a desire to share the beauty and excitement of fieldsports with others.
My photographic journey began in earnest in 2012 with the purchase of my first DSLR. The abundant wildlife on my doorstep ignited a passion that grew with each new lens and countless hours spent in the field. From stalking deer to calling in hares, I have explored some of the UK's diverse landscapes, capturing iconic species from Scotland to the southern counties.
As a regular on local walked-up and driven shoots, photography opportunities were surprisingly limited. In 2019, I made a decisive shift, exchanging my gun for a camera on a beaters' day. Since then, I've dedicated myself to capturing the essence of fieldsports, working dogs, and the natural world through my lens.
